Elite sport horses gain value by competing, and most people never had access. Until now.
With its own market and provenance you can verify. Historically, Grand Prix horse transactions have run 8% to 15% a year — a past figure, with no guarantee it repeats.
Investment models
The Grand Prix horse is an asset class
Three structured models, backed by the Mantovani Horses program.
Piaffe I is a closed-end venture capital fund under Portuguese law, created to invest in stakes in companies that own sport horses. The fund is managed, and its investments decided, by GROUND Capital SCR S.A., the management company. Mantovani acts as a service provider: it originated the deal and brings the know-how and the access to the horses, but does not manage the fund.
With Partner Access you become a partner in a specific horse, with a name and a pedigree, already in the Mantovani stable and already in training or competing. The partnership is set out in a contract, and training and competition stay with the Mantovani team. You can visit the horse and follow its competitions up close.
Both already have partners; new partnerships open horse by horse, in a conversation with the desk.
Pump Horse is the program's crypto line, still in development: each horse registered as an NFT, with vaccinations, vet exams and competition history recorded on the blockchain. There is no open offer yet; details will follow once the structure is defined.
Who is behind the models
Two horses from the program competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Thiago Mantovani ran the program that took Escorial and Fogoso there. Today a team in Portugal, Germany, Spain and the USA handles training and competition: investors join the value curve of a sport asset without having to run a stud farm.

Is this a fund?+
Piaffe I is a closed-end venture capital fund managed by GROUND Capital. This page is not its offer: structure, documents and terms come from the management company, after the conversation with the desk.
Who sets the value of the horses?+
A valuation committee. Each asset is valued at fair value (pedigree, sport results and comparable market) and revalued every six months.
What's the horizon and the liquidity?+
It's a real asset with low liquidity and a typical horizon of 5 to 10 years. If you need to exit on a short timeline, you're not the desk's profile.
Is any return guaranteed?+
No. The historical benchmark for Grand Prix transactions sits between 8% and 15% a year, with no guarantee it repeats. Each asset is valued case by case, and no outcome is promised.
Does investing grant residency in Europe?+
There are investment structures in Portugal eligible for residency programs, under their own legislation. If residency is one of your goals, the desk addresses it in the conversation, with proper legal advice.
How does the application work?+
Eight direct questions. You submit, the desk reviews and replies within a few days with the next step — a direct conversation with the team, on the WhatsApp or email you leave.
